The Biblical saga of Joseph and his coat of many colors comes to life as the story
of Joseph, a rising movie star in the 1950s Technicolor® era, who is starring in a
modern day version of the parable. Joseph, a member of the variety act Jacob & Sons, is
blessed with prophetic dreams. He is sold into slavery by his jealous brothers and
taken to Egypt, where he encounters a series of adventures. Including elements we
expect with this musical such as Elvis as Pharaoh and a choir of school children,
we also see ensemble members as the movie cast and crew, Potiphar as a movie agent,
two female narrators, and much more. Set to an engaging cornucopia of musical styles,
from country-western and calypso to bubble-gum pop and rock 'n' roll, the Old Testament
tale emerges both timely and timeless. Actors of all ages will be needed for this production.
