Important instructions regarding the Summerfest Parade!
From Duane
6/21/07
Alison
Janssen and Jeanne O’Malley will be coordinating parade events on
Sunday. If you have a question, please ask them or find Tammy
Albrecht, your stage manager, who can lead you to them.
Pre-Parade
Meet time is noon on Sunday. The parade is the exception to the
rule. There is no need to arrive early as we’ll sit for at
least an hour before we move. However, you need to get there
about noon or you will not be able to park or drop anyone off.
Meet location is the long block of Prairie View St. We are toward
the end of the section, so will likely be closer to the Oak St. corner
at least at the beginning. Just look for the convertible and the
trailer. Some parking is available across from Prairie View
Elementary School on Soden Dr . Beyond that it is sort of
“hit and miss” and do the best you can. Some people
may want to park at the end of the parade route to shuttle people back
and forth.
You might want to arrive in Oregon early and drop off your party items
(see after the parade) at the party spot first.
People ON the float and convertible, please come in costume.
Everyone else should wear a show t-shirt if possible. Some of you
will be asked to switch to a different show t-shirt at the parade
route. Also, Oklahoma ! shirts will be available at the parade
site (for purchase). If you don’t have a shirt from any
OSHP show, wear a colored t-shirt.
Be prepared for hot and humid weather—bring a water bottle and cap/hat to keep cool.
During the Parade
The most important part of the parade is to pass out handbills
promoting the show. A large number of you will be doing that.
We have asked some people to appear on the float/in the convertible in
costume to represent some of our past shows. Thank you to the
people who agreed to this.
Some of you will be marching in the parade between the convertible and
the float wearing past show t-shirts. These shirts will be
provided to you and have been specially selected to represent certain
shows. Just wear them through the parade and return them
immediately at the end. Understand that if you are in this group,
you will likely wear someone else’s t-shirt (it will be clean!)
At the End of the Parade
We will have a party at the Stiles’s house at the end of the
parade route after we finish the parade. The Stiles live at 506
S. Main St . This is also the pick up location for anyone in the
parade. Note you cannot drive here during the parade.
Our first jobs at the end of the parade are to disassemble the float,
return the t-shirts, and return the OSHP costumes. Please
follow instructions from Alison and Jeanne.
As soon as we’re done with that we can enjoy the party.
We’d encourage you to bring something to share and a beverage of
your choice. It can be a little tricky at this party because of
transportation issues, but the best idea is to drop things off at the
Stiles before the parade (11:45) and it will be there when you arrive.

Maps locates all street names on this sheet in case you need a
map. A tentative list (subject to change on Sunday) of who
will be doing what in the parade follows.
